pelvic pain
exercise classes
A unique class catered to those experiencing pain associated with an overactive pelvic floor or other dysfunctions. This class focuses on pelvic floor muscle relaxation strategies through movement, including matwork and reformer pilates, and breathing techniques. These are ideal for people experiencing pelvic pain, acute or chronic lower back pain and sciatica, sacroiliac joint (SIJ) dysfunction, mid-back and rib pain, central sensitisation and fibromyalgia, vaginismus, vulvodynia and dyspareunia, endometriosis, adenomyosis, PMDD and uterine fibroids, IBS and interstitial cystitis.
We know that suffering with pelvic pain can impact many areas of your life, including your ability to exercise consistently in ways that don’t inflame and irritate your body further and connecting with people who truly understand your experience. Therefore, this class is gentle in nature and designed to give you more energy, not take it away and also allows you to connect with people experiencing similar symptoms. Through mindful movement, we will be assisting you to manage your symptoms and equipping you with skills to replicate their effects at home.
For this reason, we highly recommend these classes to be combined with ongoing pelvic floor physiotherapy treatment, and an initial pelvic health appointment (60 minutes) or initial clinical exercise assessment (pilates) appointment (30 minutes) is required before participating in these classes to ensure suitability.
